Rémi Mathis (Bibliothèque de l’Université Paris Descartes/CNRS)
The aim of the talk is to give an overview of the use of the two-coloured title page in early printed books (1500-1800) in Western Europe. Using the data of the Dutch STCN and examples taken among French books, R. Mathis will review this practice in relation to technical, economical and cultural factors.
